First time playing - rules are relatively straightforward once you get used to it. Very good pace to the game and generates good laughter!
Wonder if it’s possible to adapt the rules to 3 or 4 players, maybe less counters? Possible progression for future versions. In any case, highly recommend!
I recently played Thieves at a board game cafe and really enjoyed the quick pace strategic game. I went straight home and bought the game to play at home with my family. I really enjoy the strategy involved, it's easy to pick up and not overly complicated.
The game itself is great quality and a pleasure to play, it's very well designed. I would definitely recommend to play with friends and famy.
This is a great two player game. It’s interesting and filled with strategy. One thing that immediately stands out for me is the overall quality of the game, both game play and the game it’s self. Its luxurious felt underside and wooden pieces make for a wonderful player experience. I can’t wait to try out my copy of Demons
The quality of this game is incredible. The components feel luxurious, and it’s the kind of game I’d be proud to display on my shelf.
The gameplay is extremely clever too. It makes you think strategically without dragging on, and each game is quick enough that you’ll almost certainly want to play again. A brilliant balance of strategy, great design and replayability.
Thieves is a quick turn based game full of lots of strategy and thievery! Surprisingly addictive and all parts of the game are made with quality in mind. This is a must have game for everyone’s board game collection!
Great thought provoking game
Finally – a two-player game where the pace is fast enough that I’m not tempted to check my phone while waiting for my husband to make a move!
It’s easy to get the hang of, which I appreciate because I don’t always have the patience for spending ages learning complicated rules before I can actually start enjoying a game. We were up and running really quickly, but it still felt like there was loads of depth and strategy once we got going. Every time you think you’ve got a solid plan, the board shifts or your opponent does something unexpected and you have to rethink everything.
I love the theming. The Nordic setting gives the game character and it feels like there’s a story unfolding as you play, not like you’re just moving pieces around a board.
One of my favourite things is that there’s very little downtime. Even when it’s not your turn, you’re paying attention because what your opponent does can completely change your next move. It kept both of us engaged the whole way through.
The production quality is great too. Everything feels well thought out and the artwork brings the game to life.
If you like clever games that are just the right level of competitive to not cause marital issues, I highly recommend Thieves. It will definitely be getting a lot of play in our house!
